These orange flowers remind us of Eschscholzia californica, the California poppy, golden poppy, California sunlight, or cup of gold, a species of flowering plant in the familyPapaveraceae, native to the United States and Mexico. It has various uses in indigenous herbalism and was spectacularly cultivated by Native American’s in California prior to colonisation. We grow these at our patch as a nod to our Indigenous relatives.
